An Oil Painting Artist - Marcella Gillenwater
Artist Statement;
With the infinite possibilities of the paint I reach for the "language of intent" that is felt in every object and every individual, whether it be of a representational or abstract result. To this expression, I dedicate my work and allow my mind to be set free.

Bio:
Marcella Gillenwater holds a BFA from Utah State University and was born in Idaho. After graduating college, Marcella relocated to New York City for four years in order to advance her career in the arts. This was were she delved into the museums and immersed herself in the works of Degas, Vermeer, Sorolla, Payne, Modigliani, Rembrandt and many other magnificent artists. During that time, she began showing her work at venues and galleries.
Returning to her beloved Idaho in 2010, where the dirt draws flowers and the sun mixes new colors, Marcella has been painting full-time for over 16 years. Her devotion to art, her search for knowledge and penchant for learning continues to enlighten and inspire her artistic quests.
This original oil painting titled Air is participating in the "Salon Des Refusés" exhibit in The Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art. We are thrilled to be a part of this exhibit!
